November is Sombre
The plants have either gone dormant or are just about to die. The days are short. The sun's rays barely reach what skin I can bare in the frigid cold. The wind brings with it microscopic ice shards that feel like a million tiny stabs.
Hello November,
I reached another year. I'm thirty three. When I look back at who I was just 10 years ago, I can barely recognize myself. It's for the best. I didn't like who I was and I was afraid of who I'd become. I'm proud of myself. Pat on the ol' big back.
The month has gone by quickly. I've been living in my downtown apartment with the dog and cats for three months now. Dad asked me to come back and live at home to help him with the mortgage payments. I agreed. Not sure when I'll be leaving this place, but waking up and looking out my window at the glimmering river will be a cherished memory.
Have you ever had a krispy kreme?
Was it crispy?
